Conociendo las Vistas de Calles de Google
Ya la gente ha empezado a darse cuenta de cosas interesantes y también a dar consejos sobre las nuevas imágenes de las Vistas de Calles que se pueden encontrar en los Mapas de Google (recién anunciadas ayer en la Conferencia Where 2.0). Alguien rápidamente señaló que se pueden usar las teclas de flechas para tener un control más interactivo aún de las vistas. Si están alejados, pueden usar las flechas de arriba/abajo para ir hacia adelante o hacia atrás. Sino, las teclas te permiten recorrer las vistas e inclinar el punto de vista. También las imágenes en la ciudad de San Francisco son de mejor resolución que en otras ciudades. Aquí hay algunos ejemplos interesantes que han compartido como comentarios en las últimas 24 horas sobre las Vistas de Calles :
- Googlers posing in front of Googleplex - esto fué mostrado en la Where ayer
- Lindas piernas...
- Puente Golden Gate
- Calle Lombard en San Francisco
- Cartel de Yahoo en Times Square
En un comentario se puntualizó que estaría buenísimo poder ver esto en GE también. Comparto totalmente con esta idea. Google realmente necesita soportar Flash y Javascript en las Ventanas de Información y Marcas de Posición. No solamente se posibilitaría ver cosas como las Vistas de Calle de los Mapas, sino también videos incrustados en GE, sonidos y mucho más. Google realmente necesita mejorar las capacidad de ser Navegador tanto en Marcas de Posición como en Vantanas de Información.
Otra cosa sobre las Vistas de Calles. Esta tecnología viene de una compañía llamada Immersive. Esta no es la tecnología que se estuvo rumoreando esta semana acerca de la adquisición de datos de edificios 3D utilizando tecnología robótica de la Universidad de Stanford.

The new StreetView is very nice. One thing that would be great is if the actual Lat Long coordinates could be show either by default or turned on for the image. In general, I wish Google Maps gave the user better ways to get lat long data for points in Maps. It would be handy for a number of reasons.

Nice tip using the keyboard. I wonder how long before a small army of people demand to be blurred out. On the other hand, maybe people don't care that they're placed there as long as the time is a secret. The only thing I could use to get a good idea of picture timing was to look at the front of movie theaters. Anyone know of an outdoor clock with date in the covered area?

Hey Frank - sounds like you are having a good time :) I am loving this Street View - seems much faster than the windows version that didnt seem to take off. I have been cruising around Vegas a little bit. I'd love to see HTML/Javascript/Flash content in Google Earth too - I have a free, open source library that might help - http://ubrowser.com - any ideas who I could contact at GE to suggest it?

You can try to use this Google Earth network link to open Google Maps for where you are looking, and then switch to Street View.

Google Earth is falling behind due to it's structural limitations in my opinion. Scripting should already be possible with Javascript, it isn't a difficult language to integrate within a program. Flash integration would be amazing if done well, but that would be almost impossible without support from Adobe, and it would be a performance killer.
