Exclusive Economic Zones in Google Earth
Have you ever wondered which country owns which islands in the crowded South Pacific, Caribbean, or Mediterranean, or an isolated island in another ocean? And how much ocean territory they each control? Well, 'PriceCollins' has posted your answer at the Google Earth Community. He has taken GIS data on the Exclusive Economic Zones
of each country of the world (these are the regions extending from the shoreline of each country - up to 200 nautical miles - which provide exploration and exploitation of water and subterranean resources (e.g., fishing, oil, etc.). See Wikipedia for more detail. PriceCollins has provided some instructions, explanations, tips and screenshots in his posts.
