Real Estate Interest in Google Earth Grows
Last week Google Earth took center stage at a real estate industry conference. John Hanke, General Manager of the Google Earth project, spoke at the conference and demonstrated a number of real estate applications for Google Earth. I read about this in a news story here (requires subscription). Apparently the demonstration produced a lot of positive reaction.
One of the...
One of the companies I previously wrote about, Globe Assistant, offers services to help businesses utilize GE. They released a Google Earth real estate application for Plantana Real Estate , Inc. in Florida (most of the properties are in the Jacksonville area). The GlobeAssistant application uses a view-based query to load properties based on your current view. The resulting colorful placemarks indicate the location of properties, and the descriptions usually show photos of the property. They also provide basic details such as price, square footage, etc. And, of course, they provide a link for more details and contact information for the broker. GlobeAssistant apparently not only offers the service of access to the database, generating the network link, and creating a nice interface, they also apparently offer hosting services as well.
GlobeAssistant is doing some excellent work, and I expect they will get lots of other GE business as Google Earth becomes increasingly widespread.
